Photography Competition
The Rocky Show Photography Competition invites talented amateur and professional photographers of all ages to showcase their best work, capturing the essence of our community, nature, and lifestyle. From stunning landscapes to candid moments, it’s a celebration of visual storytelling through the lens.
What will spectators see?
Spectators will be treated to a captivating display of photographs that highlight the diverse talents of the community. The exhibition located in the McCamley Pavilion will feature a wide range of themes and styles, showcasing everything from breathtaking scenery to engaging portraits. Take the time to wander through the displays, admire the artistry, and attendees will have the chance to vote for their favourite in the People’s Choice Category.
How is the Photography Competition Judged?
Judges will evaluate entries based on key aspects such as composition, creativity, and technical execution. They will also consider factors like clarity, use of light, and originality.
Key Dates
Nominations Close: 11:59pm Monday 26 May 2025
Exhibit Delivery: Please deliver to the Rockhampton Showgrounds Admin Office 8am – 4pm Monday 26 May - Friday 30 May 2025.
Judging: Thursday 5 June (Public, High School & Primary) and Friday 6 June 2025 (Open and champions)
Exhibit Collection: Please collect your exhibit from the McCamley Pavilion 8am – 10pm on Saturday 14 June 2025.
