Sophie George and Matilda Widdowson from Capricorn Conservation Council (CCC), along with their Youth Ambassador, are joining our Kids Program this year to discuss climate change in CQ. They will be running two sessions in our Kids program on Friday 13th June – sharing a simple climate action checklist and then supporting students to create a sustainable climate action focussed poster to take back and display in their own school or home.
Capricorn Conservation Council stands at the forefront of environmental advocacy and reconciliation in Central Queensland. They are committed to conserving and enhancing the ecosystems of Central Queensland and empowering the next generation through scientific knowledge and environmental leadership. The CCC actively provide science-based advocacy that empowers young people to become climate and conservation leaders, while supporting the community to seek sustainable lifestyle choices. They are strong advocates encouraging positive citizenship and environmental stewardship in everyday life choices (like reducing energy use and caring for Country).
