Competitions

Proudly presented by JBS Rockhampton, the 2025 Rockhampton Agricultural Show competitions are now open, inviting the community to showcase their amazing talents, products and animals across our diverse range of exciting categories! We’re looking for entries from all ages, stages and abilities, whether you’re a regular or brand new to showing your talents in our varied competitions.

Applications for all competitions are now being accepted through the online platform Showday, building on the incredible success of our 2024 show. Browse through more information on all competitions, as well as the Competition Schedules and How-to-Enter Guides.

It’s always worthwhile to set aside time to walk through the Pavilions and appreciate the vast range of skills and talent on display, from animal husbandry to the most delicate arts and crafts. Also save some time to watch ringside for the Horse Competitions and the iconic Stud Cattle Competitions.

Showgirl Award

The Showgirl Award is an excellent opportunity for young women to become more involved in their local agricultural show and community. Applications for Rockhampton Agricultural Show's Showgirl are now open for 2025.

Rural Ambassador Award

The Rural Ambassador Award is open to young men and women, 20 to 30 years of age who have a strong commitment to the rural industries and an involvement and passion for the Agricultural Show movement.

Animals

Agriculture is a cornerstone of the Rockhampton Agricultural Show, highlighting the region's farming heritage and its significance to the community. To get involved in showing animals, competitors can easily register here.

Arts and Craft Competitions

The Arts and Craft Competition at the Rocky Show invites participants of all ages to showcase their creativity and skills. This event features a wide range of handmade items, from textiles and pottery to woodworking and jewellery.

Cakes & Cookery Competitions

Get ready for a delicious showcase at our Cakes and Cookery Competition at the Rocky Show! This exciting event invites bakers and cooks of all ages to display their culinary skills. From decadent cakes to mouthwatering pastries and savoury dishes, it’s a celebration of local talent and creativity in the kitchen.

Fine Arts Competition

The Fine Art Competition at the Rocky Show celebrates local artists of all ages, featuring both open and junior categories. Artists can submit works in various styles, including landscapes, seascapes, and flora and fauna.

Horticulture Competition

The Rocky Show Horticulture Competition showcases the incredible talents of local gardeners and horticulturists, celebrating everything from stunning floral displays to impressive vegetable and fruit exhibits.

Photography Competition

The Photography Competition at the Rocky Show invites talented amateur and professional photographers of all ages to showcase their best work, capturing the essence of our community, nature, and lifestyle. School Work Competitions

The Schools Competition at Rocky Show encourages young minds to showcase their creativity and knowledge across various categories. This event not only fosters a sense of community but also inspires the next generation to engage with agriculture and the arts.

Woodchop Competition

The Rocky Show Woodchop Competition highlights the skill, strength, and precision of competitive woodchoppers. Participants will demonstrate their expertise in a variety of chopping disciplines, making for an exciting spectacle that celebrates the tradition and craftsmanship of this time-honoured sport.
