The 2022 Rockhampton Agricultural Show has proven to be a great success, attracting 30,000 visitors over three days last week.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said although the cold snap deterred some attendees the community has well and truly supported this year’s event.

“On Thursday alone we saw almost 18,000 people come through the Show gates which is a fantastic result for all involved ,” Mayor Williams said.

“Every member of the Advance Rockhampton event team, wider Council team, committees, volunteers, sponsors and local businesses all played a part in the overall success of this year’s event and we cannot thank them all enough.”

Rockhampton Show Committee Member Councillor Ellen Smith said this beloved community event was fantastic value for money and offered something for everyone.

“It wouldn’t be an Agricultural Show without the fun and fanfare of attractions like horse show jumping, sideshows and show bags, dagwood dogs and daring stunts, rides and reptile shows!” Cr Smith said.

“We were excited to bring back the Community Stage this year with a fantastic line-up of family entertainment and hope to continue this in 2023!”

Advance Rockhampton’s Executive Manager Greg Bowden said a massive amount of work was undertaken to deliver this year’s Show with planning for the 150th Rockhampton Agricultural Show soon to commence.

“The amount of work involved to deliver the Show wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated stewards, judges, sponsors and volunteers so we are encouraging the community to get behind the 150th anniversary event and be involved in the planning,” Mr Bowden said.
