Rural Ambassador

Rural Ambassador – Rockhampton Agricultural Show

Brought to you by Elders

Are you aged 20–30 and passionate about agriculture, rural communities, and making a difference? The Queensland Rural Ambassador Awards is the state’s leading rural and agricultural leadership program – and your journey starts right here in Rockhampton.

The Rural Ambassador Program empowers young men and women to advocate for agriculture, support rural communities, and champion the role of Agricultural Shows across Queensland. It’s more than a competition – it’s a platform for personal growth, leadership development, and lifelong connections.

The program includes a personal development component that runs before and during the Rockhampton Agricultural Show, equipping participants with the confidence and capabilities to make a lasting impact in their chosen field. The winner will have the opportunity to represent Rockhampton at the Central Queensland Sub-Chamber Awards, with the chance to advance to the State Finals at the Ekka.

Whether you are a farmer, ag student, community volunteer, or emerging leader – this is your chance to be recognised and celebrated.

Interested? Submit your Expression of Interest at the bottom of the page and our Rural Ambassador sub-committee will be in touch to discuss.

EOIs close Sunday 10 May 2026.

What are the prizes?

First Place Prize Package – valued at $1,000

The first-place winner will receive a generous prize package valued at $1,000. Alongside the prize, the winner is honoured with a prestigious official sash and a beautiful bouquet of celebratory flowers. One of the most exciting aspects of the win is the civic recognition: the winner will be extended a special Mayoral invitation as a guest to all civic events in the following 12 months. This unique opportunity offers access to community leadership and networking opportunities.

Runner-up Prize Package – valued at $500

The runner-up will receive a prize package valued at $500. Like the first-place winner, the runner-up is presented with an official sash symbolising their accomplishment and commemorative flowers to mark their success.
